Who we are

This Or Die Salon is an independent hair salon at 3609 Edenhurst Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90039, operating in Atwater Village since 2008. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we never do with it.

What we collect

The website itself collects almost nothing. It is a static site with no accounts, no logins, and no cookies of our own.

We collect information you give us directly: your name, phone number and email when you book an appointment, text or email us, or ask a question. We collect what you tell us about your hair so we can do it well.

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views. It is cookieless, does not track you across other websites, and does not build a profile of you.

Text messages (SMS)

If you give us your mobile number, we may send you appointment confirmations, appointment reminders, and occasional messages about your visit. Message frequency varies and depends on your appointments — most clients receive a handful of messages around each booking.

You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. Reply HELP for help, or call the salon on 323-661-5777.

We will not share or sell your mobile number, your opt-in, or your consent to receive text messages with any third party for marketing purposes. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional reasons. Information may be shared only with the service providers that deliver the messages on our behalf, and only for that purpose.

How you opt in

We only text you if you have given us your number and agreed to be contacted. That happens in one of three ways:

• In the salon — you give us your number when you book or check out, and we tell you it will be used for appointment confirmations and reminders.
• On the phone or by text — you call or text us to make an appointment, which is itself a request to be contacted at that number.
• Online — when online booking is available, you enter your number and tick a box agreeing to receive appointment texts. The box is never pre-ticked, and booking never requires agreeing to marketing.

Agreeing to receive texts is never a condition of getting an appointment.

Who else is involved

A few services help us run the salon, and they see only what they need to:

• Booksy — online booking and your appointment history.
• Square — in-person card payments. We never see or store your full card number.
• Twilio — delivers our text messages.
• Cloudflare — hosts this website and provides cookieless analytics.

We do not sell your information to anyone, for any purpose.

How long we keep it

We keep appointment and contact records for as long as you are a client, and for a reasonable period afterwards so we remember your formula and your history if you come back. Ask us to delete your information and we will.

Your choices

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can stop texts by replying STOP. California residents have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know and the right to delete — and we do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of on that front.
